On Wednesday, at ‘Back to the Mac’ event Apple has unveiled a new version of iLife (iLife ’11). For those who don’t know – iLife is an application suite developed by Apple for organizing, editing, and publishing photos, movies, and music. This suite basically comprises five applications such as iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, GarageBand, and iWeb, all of which run on the Mac OS X operating system.

- It has now added Full screen mode – which allows you to manage your entire library in full screen mode
- Added Facebook enhancements – Which allows you to upload photos directly to your wall or to an existing album. You can also see your own albums (but you still can’t stalk friends from iPhoto, unfortunately)
- Added Emailing photos directly from iPhoto – which has three-click process. ‘Open an album / photo > Click on ‘Share > and Email’. Here iPhoto will automatically make a postcard-like email with all your photos
- Added new slideshows & Added big leap in books – This feature allows you to create a photo album in the form of a completely customizable book and allows you to send it to Apple and they will customize the book and print to the address of your choice, you can also make letterpress cards with this feature too
- It has now added all new audio editing feature, which has now new and updated user interface. it is now easier than ever before to adjust audio segments and putting them where they need to be put
- It has now added one step effects (movie trailer feature) – which allows you to easily make a movie trailer after giving iMovie data like opening logo, studio name, customized credits etc
- Apple has also managed to incorporate Face Detection into iMovie – This feature helps in quick editing which will help you know which person is in which clip
- It has also include – sharing your home-made trailers to Vimeo, YouTube and Facebook
- It has now added Flex Time and Groove-matching feature – which are essentially spellcheck for your band’s tune(s). Garage Band ‘picks up the out of tempo and fixes it automatically
- Added “How did I play” feature – which tells you what you’re doing wrong
- And added piano and guitar lessons – which allows you to learn piano at home
Apple iLife ’11 Price -
iLife ‘11 comes as a free on new Macs and as a $49 upgrade for older machines. But if you have recently bought a Mac (w/o iLife ‘11), then you can pay $7 for upgrade.
