0 Microsoft Introduces New Web Service Zoom.it

Microsoft Live Labs has released a new web service Zoom.it, an early version of a free tool for easy sharing of high resolution web images. This launch is basically for a web based service as part of their Seadragon project. Zoom.it is a free service for viewing and sharing high-resolution imagery. Enter an URL at Zoom.it and it will spit out a short link and embed code for a basic but sleek image viewer that lets you zoom around an image or image of a website.

Zoom.it converts your image to the Deep Zoom format, which lets you smoothly and efficiently explore the whole image, no matter how large.  It is an idea web servicel for bloggers, photo galleries and any situation in which people would want to share high quality images on the internet. Zoom.it runs on Windows Azure and takes advantage of Microsoft Silverlight to provide the richest, most fluid zooming experience possible.The tool is usable, a cool concept and it looks great.
