0 Apple released iOS 4.2 Gold Master for iPod Touch, iPhone & iPad

After lots of testings and fixing the bugs in iOS 4.2 Beta versions, Apple has now released the Gold Master (GM) version of iOS 4.2 firmware. The latest firmware is available for iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad.
Those who are using Limera1n or GreenPois0n tool to jailbreak their iDevices will have to use untethered jailbreak, as Apple is going to provide the patch for Limera1n exploit in iOS 4.2 final version. Also, Apple team has promised to provide a fix to Passcode hack on iPhones, which means you can’t use the same method to partially unlock the device.
If you want to keep the jailbreak and unlock facility on iDevices, don’t install iOS 4.2 GM update. iPhone Dev team will be releasing ultrasn0w tool to unlock iOS 4.2 based devices. So, please wait for the updates and instructions to use the tool.
However, if you’re curious to try iOS 4.2 GM on an iDevice, you can use Redsn0w 0.9.6 Beta 2 to jailbreak the firmware. For more details read here.
iOS 4.2 GM is only available for registered developers and you can download it from the given link.
