0 Apple Special Event September1, 2010 in San Francisco Part 2

“It’s the biggest change in the iPod lineup ever.”

“Even though the iPod has a very high marketshare, we haven’t rested on our laurels. This year we’ve gone wild. We have all new designs for every single model of iPod.”

They’ve sold 275 million iPods.

“This is our music event where we unveil our cool music devices.”

iPods, the main course.

iOS 4.2 is coming in November, and will be a free update for all three devices, iPad, iPod touch and iPhone.

He’s essentially just showing off what iPhone and iPod touch users have already seen in their iOS 4.0 update.

Jobs has some Jack Johnson queued up. He’s then switching to mail, listening to Pandora still. Mail is multithreaded.

And here’s a demo of iOS 4.2 on an iPad.

So what is AirPlay? It’s AirTunes, but now you can stream video and photos as well over Wi-Fi.

When you’re printing, a Print Center app pops up and you can do print management directly from the multitasking tray.

Here’s a demo of printing. Click print. Select a printer.

iOS 4.2 will have wireless printing as well as AirPlay, something they’ll explain later.

Ah here it is, a sneak peek at iOS 4.2 to iPad. It’s going to bring multitasking, HDR photos, Game Center, etc, to iPad.

No mention at an iPad update yet.

iOS 4.1 will be available next week for iPhone and iPod touch. It’ll be a free download for everyone.

Jobs: “It’s on a phone!”

Project Sword will be on iPod touch, iPhone and iPad this holiday.

There are achievements too, as expected (and announced before).
