0 Downgrade iOS 4.0.2 to iOS 4.0.1 / 4.0 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch [How to]

Many of Apple iPhone users asked for guidelines to downgrade their iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.0.2 to iOS 4.0.1 / 4.0 / 3.1.3 / 3.1.2. Well, for Apple users those are running iOS 4.0.2 /4.0 /3.1.3 as follows, i want to tell them again that, they shouldn’t update their firmware to iOS 4.0.2. Although there jailbreak is possible for iOS 4.0.2 iPhone 3GS / 3G / iPod Touch in an unofficial way. But till the time it is suggested that, do not update your firmware to iOS 4.0.2 untill an official jailbreak process or tool is released. After all the firmware iOS 4.0.2is come only with a patch on existing jailbroken iOS 4.0.1 setup using PDF Patch from Cydia.

(Step 3 is for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3G and 2G (MC Model) users only. If you are on iPhone 3G or iPod touch 2G (non-MC model), skip Step 3 and continue from Step 4)
3. This step is for those iPhones (which are Quoted above) have their SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) saved on Cydia for the firmware you download. If you don’t have saved SHSH files, you can’t downgrade your devices.
Well, follow the steps -
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ and locate “hosts” file.
